今まで練習した事のない踊りを、初めて会った男の先生に一時間みっちり習うことに。20人くらいの女の子に囲まれてメイは一番小さくて男一人きり。この時は顔をあげて向こうを見てとか細かい指示も勉強になったよ。そして予選でみんなで同じようにおどるんだ。審査員が何人かいて振り分けられ、通過したら自分のバリエーションを本戦で踊れるんだ。練習中に逆周りに何度も回ってしまった。ジャックリーヌ先生は堪りかねて『メイは左利きだからと』男の振り付けの先生に言っていたよ。2回目のコンクールは勝手が違ってドキドキの連続だった。（続）
